Vishwas Co-op. Bank Ltd., Nashik was founded by Shri. Vishwas Jayadev Thakur at the age of 27 and has been working as the President since its inception till now i.e. for the last 25 years. He has worked tirelessly to take the bank forward. His career of last 15 years has been significant as former working chairman and current director of Maharashtra State Co-op. Banks Association Ltd., Mumbai. Also, as the former working president and current president of Nashik District Urban Co-operative Banks Association, his role is significant in earning the reputation of the association through many scholarly activities arranged by him. Under his leadership, an unprecedented state-level civic cooperative council was held in Nashik in 2011. Now, in December 2023 i.e. after a lot of penance, such a conference is going to be held in Nashik once again. Vishwas Thakur has served as a member on several committees of the Central and State Governments including Sukhthankar Committee of the Department of Cooperatives, Core Group for Self Promotion and Development of Self Help Groups, Study Group of Cooperative Banking Sector, Vikamanch Committee of Yashda Pune, Department of Agriculture and Cooperatives, International Cooperatives, Government of India. He has worked on various committees like Non-Governmental Member on High Level Committee, Co-operatives, Marketing and Textiles Department, Banking Regulation Act 1949 Amendment of Government of Maharashtra. National Federation of Urban Co-op. Banks and Credit Societies Ltd. (NAFCB), New Delhi on the institution of Hon. He has worked as a director as a representative of the Union Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
